Treatment of cavities (caries) in Zoetermeer
Caries, or cavities, are caused by plaque. Within this layer, bacteria convert sugars into acids that attack the enamel. In the early stages, you often don't notice anything. Once it reaches the dentin, the decay can spread more rapidly and eventually cause pain.
How do we treat caries?
During the treatment, the dentist removes the affected dental tissue. The tooth is then restored with a white composite filling. If desired, the treatment can be performed under anesthesia, so you won't feel a thing.
Prevention is better than cure
By visiting the dentist and dental hygienist regularly, and brushing and flossing properly, you can often prevent new cavities.
